SO NEAR ..YET SO FAR ! ( A POEM)

I feel, your every arrival ..
On receipt of the news
My face lights up with the very thought
My heart bathes in varied hues
A sense of wholeness filles up in me ...
To think that I would breathe the air that you breathe.

I reach to catch a glimpse of you in flesh and blood
Anticipation in my eyes,as i wait in the lounge,
I am already deafened by the sound of loud thuds inside me
Into a blank space I stare ...,A blank wall , a blind turn
I wonder if this is a dream; are you really there?
Is it really you, ? Can it be True?

Whispers and murmurs,Hi's and Hello's, steps approaching ,
That which rests in my bosom knows no bounds, it’s racing.
Just around the corner you finally appear,
Traveller's tear.. yet such a sparkle I swear !
I welcome you with a warm gaze and a deep revere,
A sea of mortals screaming and pushing
Receiving you this way is quite saddening
I only wish I could tell you, but dont want to, u'd understand
I am just among them Not one of them!

You look my way and wave your hand
Takes my breath away;
my imagination getting as stupid as it can
Then you throw away a flying kiss
Fluttering towards me, on my forehead it sits
You touched my soul in your own special way
Dare I think I’ll recover from your spell? Nay!

And that’s when I realize
My state of affairs; so sad and yet joyous they are…
You are so near and yet so far !
